Family & Children's Services of Central New Jersey (FACS) is a private, nonprofit organization that offers a broad spectrum of services-mental health and substance abuse, prevention, mentoring, education, case management, outreach and advocacy to people in Mercer, Middlesex and Monmouth Counties. Since 1876, FACS has evolved from an orphanage to a premier behavioral healthcare and social services agency. Driven by its mission, FACS provides many professional and creative community, school, and home-based programs to address the diverse and multi-faceted needs of central New Jersey residents.

FACS' programs offer hope and assist fragile families and individuals who struggle just to meet their basic needs. Our primary goal is to serve and empower individuals and families to take charge of their own lives, thereby strengthening our communities. Our programs do this by promoting restorative, solution-oriented services that focus on fortifying practical life and coping skills. FACS is a licensed, behavioral health care provider of services to families with children at risk for neglect and abuse, as well as youth who are at risk for substance abuse and legal consequences. We provide counseling, therapy, life skills enhancement, outreach, and advocacy for youth, families, adults, vulnerable seniors, and individuals with disabilities, who have emotional and psychiatric difficulties, and who need support to improve their daily functioning and the ultimate quality of their lives. We assist our clients in obtaining increased competencies in the home, in the workplace, at school and in the relationships they value most.

Our Staff is comprised of highly trained and seasoned licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, psychiatrists, and alcohol and drug abuse counselors; trained volunteer mentors and paraprofessionals; and a caring professional administrative team. All staff members are dedicated and compassionate individuals committed to providing the highest quality of services to the people in our community.
